Sie ist Schulleiterin der Evangelischen Schule Berlin Zentrum, Mitbegründerin der Initiative "Schule im Aufbruch", Buchautorin und aktive Innovatorin im Bereich Bildung. Ihre Vision ist eine wertschätzende Lernkultur, die zu Gemeinsinn und Verantwortung, Kreativität und Unternehmergeist inspiriert und befähigt. An der Evangelischen Schule Berlin Zentrum spielen nicht die Lehrerinnen und Lehrer die Hauptrolle, sondern die Kinder und Jugendlichen. Deshalb stehen andere Themen als üblich im Mittelpunkt: Im Schulfach „Verantwortung“ z.B. übernehmen die SchülerInnen Verpflichtungen im Gemeinwesen und spüren so, wie es ist gebraucht zu werden. Im Fach „Herausforderung“ stoßen sie an ihre Grenzen und lernen, über sich hinaus zu wachsen.
Sie berät Schulen, kommunale Einrichtungen, Bildungsprojekte und Stiftungen. Sie war Preisträgerin des Vision Award 2012, des querdenker Awards 2013. 2012 erschien das Buch „EduAction – Wir machen Schule“ im Murrmann Verlag, 2014 das Buch „Schulen im Aufbruch – Eine Anstiftung“ im Kösel Verlag. Die Evangelische Schule Berlin Zentrum ist mehrfach ausgezeichnet, u.a. 2013 mit dem KARG Preis für Hochbegabtenförderung und 2014 als ChangeMaker Schule von Ashoka Deutschland.

Liebe Elena, dieses wunderbare Video macht mich traurig und glücklich zugleich. Traurig wenn ich an meine Schulzeit und vor allem an die meines Sohnes denke. Im Kindergarten hatte er schon einen IQ von 136 und es gab einerlei Möglichkeiten ihn zu fördern. Er lernte Mobbing schon im Kindergarten und erst recht in der Schule kennen. Vor allem von seinen Betreuern/Lehrer. Zusätzlich hatte er ADHS und war ständig unterfordert. In der Volksschule wollte er sich schon umbringen da er es „nicht wert wäre zu leben“. Und auch ich als Alleinerziehende Mutter am Lande wurde ins lächerliche gezogen wenn ich versucht habe etwas für ihn zu erreichen. Schulwechsel war nicht möglich da die Frau des Schuldirektors Direktorin an der anderen Schule war und meinte – ja, sie hat eh schon von ihm gehört. Es schmerzt mich heute noch welche Möglichkeiten meinem Sohn aufgrund der Unfähigkeit der Pädagogen entgangen sind und welche seelischen Wunden ihm zugefügt wurden ohne ihm wirklich helfen zu können.
Glücklich macht mich dass es anscheinend immer öfter Möglichkeiten gibt seine Kinder nach ihren Möglichkeiten zu fördern und dass sich das erstarrte Schulsystem – wenn auch langsam – aber sicher aufzulösen scheint. Was auch noch ungeahnte Auswirkungen auf das Zusammenleben der Gesellschaft nach sich zieht.

Ich habe ein Buch entliehen „Lernen ist wie Atmen“ – eigentlich gibt es nicht mehr dazu zu sagen. Ein neues Menschenbild täte uns allen gut – und Mut, dazu zu stehen.

dieses Gespräch macht echt Mut und hat mich so mit Freude erfüllt. Es ist schön zu wissen, dass es in diesem Land noch Menschen gibt die nicht mit dem Staat konform gehen und nach Möglichkeiten suchen um unsere nächste Generation so werden zu lassen wie jeder einzelne individuell Heranwachsende nun mal eben ist.
Richard David Precht redet ja schon seit Jahren, dass dieses „Schul“-System ein mega-veraltetes ist und nun endlich mal andere Möglichkeiten geschaffen werden sollten. Er stieß immer wieder auf Mißverständnis.
Ich denke in den nächsten Jahren wird ein großer Wandel dbzgl. stattfinden, der ja jetzt teilweise schon in anderen Bereichen spürbar ist.
Hallo zusammen, ich habe selbst drei Kinder… Die ich durch ihre mühsamen Schulweg begleite. Alles was berichtet wurde, was an unserem Schulsystem nicht stimmt kann ich nur bestätigen! Was mir gefehlt hat sind konkrete Tipps, wie wir Eltern unsere Kinder stärken und gut dadurch führen können, weil von heute auf morgen alles ändern geht ja eben leider doch nicht. Ich habe 17 Jahre lang Elternvertreterin gemacht und bin da jetzt ausgestiegen… es ist einfach nur frustrierend zu sehen, dass man als Individualisten da gegen Windmühlen anrennt! Und sobald dein Kind nicht der Norm entspricht, aber hochintelligent und kreativ ist, und du immer wieder zur Schule gehst und Gespräche suchst Und du immer wieder zur Schule gehst und Gespräche suchst , dann bist du die Mecker Mutter . . . Man kann nur hoffen, das irgendwann auch die Leute die an hoher Stelle Schule gestalten, am besten durch Erfahrungen mit ihren eigenen Kindern, endlich mal aufwachen!

Ich habe mich immer gegen das Regelschulsystem verwehrt, nach Alternativen gesucht – und jetzt weiss ich allmählich warum.
Andreas Salchers Buch „Die begabte Schülerin und ihre Feindinnen“ (weibliche Form deshalb, weil sein gesamtes Buch in der männlichen Form geschrieben ist!) lese ich endlich, weil ich selbst gerade nach Mitgestaltung im Lehrbereich suche.
Berlin wäre da wohl eine Reise wert und die von Margret angesprochene Begleitung hätte mich auch interessiert. Vernetzung möglich?
Wenn es für Österreich etwas Ähnliches gibt, so wäre ich für Infos dankbar.
Oder wo gibt es bestenfalls eine Partnerschule ?
Viele Ideen haben mich an einige italienische Steinerschulen erinnert, die ich kurz kennengelernt habe.
